@Aloe39 @Saffronflowers @jeremyiwhite @KatieKent1988 @PaulEmbery There are different kinds of families, different kinds of people, and everyone deserves respect. Also, some kids, even at a young age, sense they are different and can get hurt. So adults need to be able to discuss/intervene in appropriate ways

@Aloe39 @Saffronflowers @jeremyiwhite @KatieKent1988 @PaulEmbery 11 year olds tease each other by calling each other gay. They are already aware even if it’s not discussed formally in the classroom. What about kids w 2 dads or 2 moms? What about teachers with same sex partners? Why is it bad to talk about this w kids, about basic respect?

@KatieKent1988 @PaulEmbery Maybe a kid in that class has two dads or two mums. Why shouldn’t kids learn that there are all different kinds of loving families? That’s part of letting people be themselves.

RT @ERudzewicz: I feel immense gratitude for it all; the fun, silliness, community, learning, and even the challenges experienced this year…
