Anna Bowles began her teaching career in 2023 after earning Master's and my Bachelor's degrees in Elementary Education from James Madison University. Her favorite parts about working in schools is getting to know her students and building meaningful relationships. Outside of school, Ms. Bowles likes to read (especially Harry Potter!), go for walks, eat all the pastas, and do anything outdoors. A goal she is working toward is to travel to all of the United States National Parks.
Teacher
Laura Hummel began her career in education in 2024, taking after her mother who is also an elementary teacher. She prefers to go by "Ms. Laura."
Teacher
Mary McGrath's teaching career spans many years and many grade levels.

Emily Summers began teaching in 2023 after graduating from Illinois Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and French and Francophone studies. She enjoys connecting students in many different ways. When she isn't in the school building, Emily enjoys visiting museums with her husband. She has four siblings -- two sister sand one brother. Emily's favorite food is macaroni and cheese and her favorite book is The Hate U Give.

In 2018, Julienne "Jill" Hawald began teaching in APS. She is originally from Michigan, and graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor's in Elementary and Special Education and Master's in Special Education. She loves to prioritize building relationships with students and families. Jill has lived all over the world, but is now proud to call Northern Virginia her home. Hiking, golfing, kayaking, and hanging out at the beach are her favorite non-work pastimes.
Teacher
Jessica Priest, who proudly hails from Costa Rica, began teaching in 2002. She loves building relationships with students. When she isn't at school, Jessica loves being outdoors with her family. Her favorite food is pepperoni pizza, drink is iced coffee (even in the winter!), book is Where the Sidewalk Ends, and animal is the three toed sloth.
