Students who are non-native English speakers receive additional support from a licensed educator. These amazing teachers collaborate with all grade-level teams, as well as each other, to ensure different language learning needs are met. Kimberlee Gorecki began her teaching career in 2004. She is a two-time graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill -- B.S. in Elementary Education and M.Ed in Literacy. Although she is a Tarheel through and through, she is married to a Blue Devil from Duke University, which makes for a heated ACC sports rivalry! As an English Learner teacher, Ms. Gorecki enjoys getting to know students outside of school because she believes creating positive relationship is so powerful! She also loves seeing the growth students make from the beginning of the year to the end. In her free time, Kimberlee enjoys traveling (did you know she was born in South Korea and lived in Germany?), visiting National Parks, working out at OrangeTheory, and trying new restaurants and types of foods (recommendations always welcome!) with her husband and son.

Amanda Martin began her journey in education in 2015 after completing a Bachelors of Arts in Humanaties from Eckerd College. She is currently enrolled at Longwood University pursuing a Masters of School Librarianship. Her favorite thing about working in schools is getting to know her students and their families. In her free time Amanda volunteers at Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue. Fun fact: her favorite food is cheese!

Jessica Priest, who proudly hails from Costa Rica, began teaching in 2002. She loves building relationships with students. When she isn't at school, Jessica loves being outdoors with her family. Her favorite food is pepperoni pizza, drink is iced coffee (even in the winter!), book is Where the Sidewalk Ends, and animal is the three toed sloth.

Lizzie Rubio began teaching in 2015 after earning a Master's of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. She enjoys using various resources and strategies to support multilingual learners and linking the learning to students' cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Outside of school, Lizzie frequently can be found baking, especially with her favorite ingredient: chocolate. Lizzie is bilingual in English and Spanish and enjoys folkloric dance.
